Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's debut female singer for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. She released her first EP with the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she began gaining recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox posted her music to the internet in 2012 after she released her the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her own single Bound and the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. On July 21 2015 she appeared on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's reference. Later in the year, her music circulated all over Dreamville. On December 8, that she was signed to Dreamville Records. She made an appearance on the joint album Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. On the 21st of October in 2016, her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed as part of The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as an opening performance. In 2018, she appeared on two songs alongside her label-mates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. and Bas in Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. The album's first single, Whipped Cream The album's first single, Whipped Cream was released on September 5, 2018 with the music video. Then, on the 9th November she dropped two additional singles, titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Then on the 13th of November two singles titled One and Pedigree. One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made appearances as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this single in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. The 20th of February, 2019, a music video was released for the song. The track has received nearly 3 millions views on YouTube within its first week. She was the supporting act for 6LACK in the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December of 2018.
