Kim Delaney, an American actor best known for her role as Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she was awarded the Emmy Award. She is also known for her role in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney is the sole child of an United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised by four brothers and sisters. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed of being a court reporter. Her modeling career began at the age of 14 and later landed commercial roles when she moved into New York. In 1981, she appeared as an innocent teenager in All My Children. Delaney's career has been filled with numerous television films and dramas. Contrary to her career success, her personal one is not as successful and happy. Her personal life has been a mess. She's had two unsuccessful marriages and struggled with addiction issues. In 2005 her custody was removed from her.
